Who we are
Bathmark (BATHMARK™) is a consumer resource and connection service for homeowners considering bath and shower projects. The Bathmark website, BathmarkUSA.com, is operated by Down East Lead Co., based in Maine, United States.
Bathmark does not itself perform construction or installation services. This policy describes how information provided through this site is handled.
Information you provide
When you use the estimate journey on this site, you choose to provide project and contact information.
- Project details: the type of project you are considering, your general timing, whether you own the home, and the investment range you have in mind.
- Contact and location details: first and last name, mobile phone number, email address, and ZIP code.
- Verification information: the one-time code exchange used to confirm that the mobile number you entered belongs to you.
- Any additional information you send us directly, for example by email.
Phone verification and service providers
Before a project request is accepted, we send a one-time code by text message to the mobile number you provide and ask you to enter it. This confirms the number is reachable and belongs to the person making the request.
We use a third-party communications provider to send that message and confirm the code. Your number and the verification result are processed by that provider for this purpose. Standard message rates from your carrier may apply.
The one-time code is used for verification only. It is not a marketing subscription, and entering it is not treated as agreement to receive marketing messages.
How we use information
- To review your project request and determine the appropriate next step.
- To confirm that the contact information provided is accurate and reachable.
- To share your project and contact information with participating home-improvement professionals so they can respond to your request, where service is available.
- To respond to questions you send us and to keep records of requests submitted through the site.
- To operate, secure, and improve the site.
How information is shared
Bathmark connects homeowners with participating home-improvement professionals. When you submit a project request, the project and contact information you provide may be shared with one or more participating professionals or their representatives so they can contact you about your project. Bathmark may be compensated in connection with these referrals or connections.
Depending on the definitions used in applicable state privacy laws, sharing information with participating professionals may be treated as a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We describe our practice plainly rather than making categorical claims about it.
Information may also be shared with service providers that support our operations, such as hosting, communications, spreadsheet and record-keeping, and analytics providers, and with others where required by law, in response to lawful requests, or in connection with a business transfer.
Once a participating professional receives your information, that professional handles it under its own privacy practices, which Bathmark does not control.
Device and usage information
Like most websites, this site and its hosting and analytics providers may receive standard technical information such as IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and referring pages. If you arrive from an advertisement or campaign link, campaign parameters in that link may be recorded with your request so we can understand where requests come from.
This site loads Google Analytics 4 and the Meta pixel for analytics and advertising measurement. These tools may use cookies and similar browser technologies and may process standard device, browser, and site-activity identifiers under their providers' own practices, including for measuring and improving advertising. We do not send your name, email address, phone number, or ZIP code to these tools.
Depending on where you live, the use of these tools may give you the right to opt out of targeted advertising or of the sale or sharing of personal information. See “Your choices and requests” below. You can also limit these technologies through your browser settings or device controls.
Retention and security
We keep project request records for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, including follow-up, record-keeping, and legal or business requirements, and then dispose of them. We use administrative and technical measures intended to protect the information we hold, including keeping service credentials on our servers rather than in your browser. No method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Your choices and requests
You can choose not to submit a project request. If you have already submitted one, you can contact us to ask what information we hold about you, to ask that it be corrected or deleted, or to ask that it not be shared further, subject to applicable law and any information a participating professional has already received.
Depending on where you live, state privacy laws — including in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws — may give you rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of targeted advertising or of the sale or sharing of personal information. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We will respond as required by applicable law and will not discriminate against you for making a request. You may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf where the law allows.
If you no longer wish to be contacted by a participating professional, please tell that professional directly, and you may also contact us.
Children
This site is intended for adults considering home improvement projects. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site and our practices develop. The date above reflects the most recent update. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
